Jamie is an award winning ethical and ecological designer that uses sustainable materials to make fashion accessories. She was born in Texas, but moved to Kuala Lumpur when she was two and subsequently spent her teen years in Hong Kong. It was her years in Asia that really formed her design aesthetic and in 2008 she launched her company KAYU.

KAYU (meaning "wood") makes accessories out of natural and sustainable materials that limit the damage to the earth's resources and promote and preserve indigenous crafts and cultures. KAYU incorporates giving into their business by donating 2% of each sale towards healthcare and education in the developing world.

In 2011, KAYU was nominated for an Innovation & Design Award by Conde Nast Traveller. In 2010 KAYU won The Earth Award in fashion and was shortlisted for the prestigious Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation grant. Jamie's designs have exhibited at London Fashion Week and at The Koldinghus Museum in Denmark. In addition Jamie and KAYU have been featured in such publications as Vogue, InStyle, Elle, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Harper's Bazaar and numerous others.

Jamie helps companies and individuals with product development, from design to packaging and marketing. She focuses on eco-friendly, ethical design that tells a story and gives back to the community.
